Scrappy Doo is a 4-5 yr old male wire haired Jack Russell Terrier. He is particular about what dogs he gets along with and which ones he does not. There is no specific rhyme or reason that we can tell as to who he likes and who he doesn't. He gets along great with my male, very bossy, 3 pound Chihuahua and another male Min Pin foster who is submissive and he gets along with a female wild child dachshund that is here right now. He has gotten along with other male and female fosters that were both dominant ones and submissive ones. He does not get along with my submissive old male ShihTzu or a female dominant Boston Terrier foster dog. With that said, the best thing to do is to make sure we make a proper introduction if you have another dog. Scrappy doesn't seem to be as picky with his feline friends and seems to be OK with all of them he has met. Scrappy has a ton of personality but he is not immediately trusting of new people so he has to be given ample time to settle in to a new environment for his true self to start showing. He is an awesome dog once he gets to know and trust you. He is not a dog we would place in a home with small children as he is too unsure of new people to be 100% safe with a small child. We have had him in our rescue for about 2 years now. He came from the local kill shelter as a stray so we know nothing of his past. He is estimated to be about 4 or 5 years old now. He is going to require a special home with special people who are willing to give him the time he needs to adjust and feel safe. He is not a dog that will come into a home and instantly be part of the family. For the right family, willing to put in the time and effort, they will be rewarded with a loving faithful dog.
